The Mid North Coast Creative Ageing Festival is on between February 10 and 24, offering more than 40 opportunities for older people to participate in the arts through exhibitions, performances, dance, workshops, discussion groups, networking and sharing of experiences and information.

The aim of the annual event is to acknowledge the valuable role seniors play in our community and highlights the importance of engaging in the arts and creative activities to foster good health and wellbeing as people age.
A number of events will be held in Taree.
- February 10: Life Drawing Studio at Manning Regional Art Gallery, from 1.30pm. Bring your own materials and easel, relaxed atmosphere, untutored group, newcomers welcome. - February 13 to 23: Art of Ageing Digital Exhibition at Taree Library. This very successful travelling exhibition celebrates the experience and contributions of older people in NSW, with 30 images and stories that challenge out-dated perceptions of ageing, including images from local photographer Julie Slavin.

- February 14 and 19: A Journey Back in Time at Taree Library, starts 10am. Join the team from Manning Wallamba Family History Society and explore the importance of historic photographs and items. Bring along a historic local photograph (from the Manning Valley/Wallamba area) and/or a historic item that may be or become an heirloom. Light refreshments provided. - February 15: The Kings of Country Rock - The Eagles Vs Creedence at the Manning Entertainment Centre from 8pm. The cast of multi-talented and internationally respected musicians bring to life a stage show unlike any other- complete with replica costumes and instruments. - February 16: Music by the Book at Taree Library at 3pm. An afternoon of music, dancing and delicious food! The website also provides information on more than 100 clubs and opportunities to assist those who wish to age creatively, whatever their interest, whatever time of the year.
Arts Mid North Coast is also using the festival to launch its 15th Cultural Trail, focusing on services that provide for the ageing population, people who use wheelchairs, children, people with temporary mobility limitations, people with prams, and people with hearing or vision impairments.
