The proposal announced by Coalition Attorney-General Christian Porter to establish a Federal Anti-Corruption Watchdog would, in effect, do more to cover up corruption than it will expose it.
This "toothless" watchdog:
- won't hold open hearings
- won't make public findings of corruption
- won't investigate complaints from the public
- won't have powers needed to unearth corruption.
It would operate behind closed doors with no public knowledge of its investigations or findings.
The Coalition aren't serious about political corruption - voters are!
Back to square one!
Everyone is entitled to be "stupid" but "some people" abuse the privilege.
May the Force be ever vigilant
