What’s on in the Manning, Great Lakes and Gloucester.
Lachlan Valley Railway will be in the Taree and Gloucester area from Saturday, January 19 to Monday, January 21 running a heritage train shuttles for the local community to enjoy.

Passengers are invited to come aboard their historic 1920s "Tin Hare" Railmotors for a weekend of heritage train rides from Taree and Gloucester stations. The ‘Taree Rattler’ has two destinations, Mount George and Johns River.
Two shuttles bound for each location will depart Taree railway station on both Saturday and Sunday.
Friday
- ‘A bug’s life’ Summer Reading Club activity, 10.30am to noon at Forster Library. Free event.
- ‘Wearable Art’, 10.30am to noon at Gloucester Library. Free event.
- ‘Science on the Move’, 2pm to 3pm at Hallidays Point Library. Free event.
- Opening night of ‘JADA’ exhibition, 6pm to 9pm at Manning Regional Art Gallery. Cost: $10 or $7 for friends of the gallery.
Saturday
- Hub markets, 8am to noon at Taree Showground.
- Forster farmers market, 8am to noon at Forster Visitor Centre.
- Spoon carving workshop, 9am to 3pm at Creek Cottage Farm, Bobin.
- Tea Gardens Village markets, 9am to 1pm at Myall Quays Shopping Centre.
- Round six of the North Coast Surf Boat Series at Old Bar Beach. Racing from 9am.
- Kids holiday art workshop, 10am to 3pm at Gloucester Art Gallery.
- Seafood race day at Tuncurry Forster Jockey Club. Gates open at noon.
- Taree Aquatic Club’s Manning Marathon. Starts at Manning Point at 1pm.
- Taree Motorcycle Club ‘Twilight’ meeting, 9am to 9.30pm at the Old Bar Roadside Circuit. Cost: $10 for adults or $20 per car.
- Tuncurry ‘Twilight’ markets, 3pm to 8pm at John Wright Park.
- Twilight Music in the Back Paddock, 3pm to 6pm at Great Lakes Paddocks.
Sunday
- Forster Triathlon Club’s Girls Only Tri at Forster Keys.
- Krambach markets, 8am to 1pm at Krambach Hall.
- Dilly bag weaving class, 9am to 4pm at Manning Regional Art Gallery. Cost: $90. For ages 16 years and up.
Weekend
- Northern Eagles Junior Touch Football Championships at Taree Recreation Centre, Saturday and Sunday.
- Aussie Food Festival at the Great Lakes Aquatic and Leisure Centre, noon to 9pm on Friday and Saturday.
