A 67-year-old woman suffered a significant head laceration during a robbery of a newsagent in Taree.

About 7am on Friday, December 28 2018, police were called to a newsagent on Mudford Street.
On arrival officers located the woman, an employee of the newsagent, with a laceration which was caused when a man entered the premises and pushed the woman into a bench top prior to taking money from the cash register.
Forensic officers and detectives conducted an examination of the scene.
The offender was described as 175 to 180 centimetres tall with a medium to solid build and tanned skin.
He was last seen running from the location towards Bushland Drive.
The woman was taken to Manning Hospital where her laceration was treated.
