The weather was overcast and comfortable for the visit.
The central school, the preschool and St Joseph’s students wandered through the various attractions and pavilions which display students’ work.
They also saw a performance by Captain Crackers which was a fun new experience.
The ‘package combo’ that our students are given allows many students to afford a visit to the show and enjoy a community event. A Spiteri bus ride, free entry, sausage sandwich, drink and ice block and a ride on the bumper cars, all for $7, is great value.
The school thanked the show committee and in particular the show secretary, Mrs Bernadette Newton for organising the school’s visit.
Primary teacher Warren Gibbs also thanked the staff in the show canteen who supplied the food.
The students arrived back at school by 1pm, tired and inspired by the visit, or maybe it was the $5 lolly show bag that many students acquired.
Thank you to all the school staff and parents who made this visit a safe and enjoyable event.
