MidCoast Council’s move to Master – there is no doubt in my mind that we are hurtling towards a fiasco of the magnitude of the Port Macquarie GlassHouse.

Quite frankly I believe the only viable solution for we the ratepayers of this council is that we go belly up and get an administrator appointed. It is not a happy prospect, but what other option do we have?.
It would appear there are only three councillors with a grasp of reality, Peter Epov, Kathryn Bell and Jan McWilliams. All the rest and council employees promoting this lunacy are following the time honored bureaucratic practice of spending our money with gay abandon. Because, of course, it isn’t their money.
They are not prepared to listen to any other point of view, combined with the fact that they are only willing to give us some very rubbery figures in regard to the cost, which of course has no bearing to the true cost involved. But of course when the poo hits the fan they will scuttle off with great alacrity.
I am sure I am not the only one asking why do we need to centralise everything?
For years the computer industry has been telling us that with modern technology distance is now no object. So where is the perceived economy of all those employees having to commute to Taree every day.
I suspect that will be another hidden costs as they will not be expected to pay their travel costs themselves.
Be warned the next thing on the agenda will be another Special Rate Variation.
