There was a great mix of well known faces who’ve been here since day one, and new faces who are just discovering what a gem the MEC is, and together they congregated on stage to eat, drink and be merry.
Donna Carrier from Bent on Food provided a scrumptious and sumptuous spread to sup upon.
Jake Davey serenaded the throng prior to speeches and the unveiling of the new season shows, after which we were treated to a performance by the Waang Djari Dancers who danced on the site of what will be our new 100 seat studio space.
Following the marvellous dancing, all were invited back to the stage to continue the festivities and be given a Season Brochure to take home, and one and all had a fabulous night.
The season itself was very well received, and we’re thrilled to start publicising what we have on offer for the first six months of 2019.
There really is something for everyone with “The Kings of Country Rock” showcasing the best music from The Eagles and Creedence Clearwater Revival, followed by the flamboyant Prada Clutch bringing “Les Divas” to town – an all male revue celebrating the world’s finest divas of showbiz.
James Reyne returns with his hit show “A Crawl to Now” with all his hits that provided the soundtrack to Australian Summers of yore.
The Boys in the Band are coming back to the MEC with their wonderful new show: “Jukebox Revolution” celebrating the most iconic artists of the 20th Century.
Darren Coggan brings his new show: “Like A Rhinestone Cowboy – The Best of Glen Campbell” to please all the fans of that great man of Country Music, and Marina Prior and David Hobson’s show “The 2 of Us” is likely to sell out quickly.
The incredible 360 ALLSTARS will burst on stage with their supercharges Urban Circus, and we are thrilled to announce that the Sydney Symphony Orchestra are returning with the incredibly talented classical guitarist Slava Grigoryan out front.
We haven’t forgotten the ankle biters – Roald Dahl’s Revolting Rhymes and Dirty Beasts is coming in June to delight the young and young at heart!
