For the second time this season Larkin and fellow opener Daniel Hughes shared a double century stand. Larkin and Hughes (134) put on 223 before Larkin was dismissed on the second ball of the third day.
Hughes and Larkin now hold the two highest partnerships for any wicket, and the only two past 200, in the Sheffield Shield this season to date. They put on 251 in the game against Queensland in Canberra last month, where Larkin posted his highest first class score of 175 not out. NSW won that game by 163 runs.

Larkin made his century against South Australia in 197 balls and hit four boundaries and two sixes.
“Hughsie and I managed to put some runs on the board,’’ Larkin said.
“That’s your job when you get a friendly surface like this for batting.’’
Larkin said there were ‘challenges’ while he was batting, despite the track.
“But if you stick at it long enough the tide always turns,’’ he added.
Larkin noted that six of NSW’s top seven batsman have scored hundreds this season.
“There’s a lot of confidence in that group,’’ he said.
South Australia was dismissed for 380 in their first innings. NSW replied with 8/541. South Australia will resume at 0/18 on Monday.
