The biggest event on Coopernook’s calendar, Carols in the Park, is back for its fifth year and will be held from 6pm to 8.30pm on Saturday, December 15, at Coopernook Park, Macquarie Street.

It has become a focus for the village over the years and is held in high regards towards celebrating the sights and sounds of Christmas for the community by the community.
This year the committee is represented by several community groups including Lower Manning Uniting Church in Australia, Anglican Church Parish, Coopernook Rural Fire Service, Coopernook School of Arts, Taree Volunteer Rescue Association and including individual residents of Coopernook and its surrounds.
Performers include the Club Taree Community Band, which will provide music for songs and carols (this band has performed at each year since 2014), vocalist Mary Camphuis who will perform a solo (Mary has performed each year since 2014) and Norm Lambert of Moorland will perform a solo violin item.
Activities also include a nativity scene, the arrival of Santa and Santa’s grotto for family photos and Marshall from Paw Patrol will appear courtesy of Coopernook Fire Service.
Song books will be available, flameless candles will be for sale, a sausage sizzle will be operating from 6pm and hot and cold drinks will be for sale.
A raffle will be running with a feature prize being a hand crafted, timber rocking horse by Mr Chris Pearson of Coopernook.
The carols will conclude at 8.30pm with a fireworks display and organisers advise residents to take care of their pets on the night.
People coming along are encouraged to bring along a chair and/or a picnic and enjoy the entertainment under the stars at Coopernook.
Organisers have endeavoured to make it something for everyone reflecting the reason for the season.
Please note that the Coopernook Park is an alcohol free zone and no glass is permitted on site.
