This will will be conducted jointly by YMCA and Taree Torpedoes Swimming Club.
A 4 x 50m handicap relay for businesses and sporting clubs as well as a 50m individual handicap dash for cash will be conducted.
The four person event will carry $500 in prize money and a perpetual shield. The individual ‘Dash For Cash’ will have $100 prizemoney. Entry fees will be $100 for the four person event and $10 for the individual. All proceeds from the event will go to the YMCA Swimability program and Taree Torpedoes.
“It has been a few years since this was last held and we see it as a great way to promote some friendly rivalry between businesses and get a few more people enthused about swimming,’’ Taree Torpedoes official Ian Smith said.
“People will need to submit times for their teams and the aim will be to win the race without breaking their time. We will have a break time of + or – 4 seconds and people can swim any stroke they like.
“We are aiming to have 80 teams for the main event.’’
