Summerfest 2018 will emanate from Harry Bennett Park on Saturday, December 1 to provide a unique, outdoor live music experience for youth.
Now in its eighth year, the event continues to grow in popularity.
There will be some familiar faces in the support act this year as previous Manning Youth Action and Interact Team (MYAIT) members and Live n Loud participants return to their old stomping ground with their band, The Small Press.
In a coup for the Mid Coast, headline act The Kava Kings will generate plenty of talk and excitement as they plan a return to the region for the first time since 2017’s Wingham Akoostik Festival.
From the organisation and marketing to the production and performances, everything is the responsibility of MYAIT.
The team is supported by MidCoast Council’s youth community strengthening officer Russell Ingram alongside funding assistance from Indent NSW.
“With a mixture of amateur, semi-professional and professional bands in the line-up, Summerfest is a great mix of talent and a good opportunity for some bands to play on a larger stage, to a wider audience,” Russell said.
“Every year Summerfest gets better and it’s sure to be a great night of entertainment for the wider community, not just our youth, to enjoy.”
The event is a fully-supervised drug and alcohol free event for all ages.
Gates open at 4pm with entertainment continuing through to 8pm.
While tickets are available at the gate, purchase online ahead of time and you’ll go in the draw to win a prize donated by Bass n Blues music store.
