Numbers at this year’s Craftathon, held over the weekend of November 17 and 18 at Club Taree, prove that Craftathon did indeed still have a good following, as around 1000 people came through the doors.
Pam reports that people were lined up outside the door on Saturday morning waiting for the event to start, and numbers were constant throughout the day on Sunday.
“We were very successful, even though numbers were down a little bit from last year,” Pam said.

The Taree Craft Cottage has put on Craftathon in Taree for the past 20 years, but in recent years numbers of people attending have started to dwindle. Pam puts it down to the increase of people shopping on the internet.
“It’s made it more difficult to get good exhibitors,” Pam said.
Organisers say they that exhibitors and customers alike were both happy and sad – happy because they were there, but sad because it would be the last time.
“Overall it was a wonderful event and a good result for the Taree Craft Centre,” Pam said.
“It was an absolutely lovely show. Everybody had such a good time.”
Funds raised through Craftathon have historically gone to pay for overheads for the Taree Craft Centre premises. Now that Craftathon is no longer continuing, look out for more exhibitions and events to be held through the Taree Craft Centre.
