It was wonderful to see members of the Oxley Island, Mitchells Island and Bohnock communities, including family members who travelled long distances, come together to reflect and remember in particular, the young men and women from these localities who served their nation in past conflicts.
A huge thank you must go to my father, Warwick Murray, who gave up so much of his time to organise and prepare for this historic occasion.
His tireless work and attention to detail made the day such a success and a fitting tribute to our serving and ex-serving men and women, particularly our World War I diggers.
Thanks must also go the Oxley Island Hall Committee members for the excellent luncheon provided after the service.
Well done to all involved in the occasion. It was one which many will never forget.
