“Shirley, Mario and Peter spent the day in the garden on Tuesday and they’ve made great in-roads. We hope to finish the beds off at the working bee on Sunday,” garden co-ordinator Bree Katsamangos said.
The garden is thriving with regular rain and warm weather resulting in garden beds abundant with a variety of vegetables, herbs and bee-attracting plants. Bree said working bee volunteers would be rewarded with freshly picked produce for their work on Sunday.
The event is family friendly, and Bree urged people to come, work in the garden and enjoy the company of community members. It runs from 9am until noon.
“Come along, wear sturdy enclosed shoes, sun protection, bring plenty of water and your mug to share a cuppa. Children are always welcome.”
