The Lansdowne School is inviting the local community to join the students and staff on Monday morning, November 12 at the school to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Remembrance Day.

The ceremony will be starting at 10.45am
To commemorate the 100th anniversary of Remembrance Day, the Upper Lansdowne Memorial Hall will be hosting a morning tea on Sunday, November 11. Morning tea will be from 10am, followed by planting poppies and observing a minute silence at 11am.
The photographs of the community soldiers who valiantly gave their lives have been restored and re-positioned in the hall. Please go along and remember. RSVP for catering would be appreciated so please contact Robyn Oliver on 6515 2242.
Coming concerts
The Mic Conway and Robbie Long Concert is on at the Upper Lansdowne Memorial Hall this Sunday, November 11. The show commences at 4pm.
The hall committee already has a great line up of wonderful entertainment including Nick Charles on December 1, commencing at 7pm; The North Folk on January 3, 2019 commencing at 7pm; Winter Wilson on January 31; SON (Susan O’Neill) on March 14 and on April 12, Mànran.

Fishing club outing
At the November Lansdowne Fishing Club weekend outing only two members weighed in.
Trevor Henry caught one flathead weighing 0.3kg and Les Gardner caught four flathead weighing 2.4kg with the heaviest weighing 0.8kg.
The fishing club Pairs Big Bash is on this weekend with the weigh in at Coopernook Hotel on Sunday, November 11 at 1pm. Fishing club members are asked to lend a hand on the day.
The second sishing club outing for November will be a barbecue day out on Saturday, the 17th at North Haven. Names to be put on the list at the club for those wishing to attend.
The fishing club’s Seafood raffles are on this Saturday, November 10 . There will be 10x seafood trays, 10x meat trays and the $40 supporters’ tray. Raffle is drawn at 6.30pm.
Any members who wish to go on the raffle roster please contact one of the committee members.
Congratulations
Congratulations to Colin Haines, who runs our Lansdowne Post Office, and Shirley McGrady on the announcement of their engagement. The wedding will be before the new year.
