Planning is in its final stages, says organiser Warwick Murray. The indoor flagpole, the cenotaph and dais are all ready for transportation to the hall together with floodlighting and a specially constructed double flag mast.
The wreath laying segment will include hall committee life member Clem Thomas laying a wreath for World War I diggers, WW2 veteran George Weiley will lay for his era, citizen of the year Dennis Marriot will represent Korea veterans while Australian Light Horse Association vice president, Rodney O'Regan OAM VA, a Vietnam veteran, will represent that era. Paul Toohey, a Cambodia and Peace Keeper veteran, will also lay a wreath for contemporary veterans.
Andrew Murray, of Australia's Second Cavalry Regiment who served in Iraq, will compere the proceedings.
Toni Mitchell of Oxley Island has taken charge of the musical aspects, gathering a small choir and putting together background musical numbers.
Warwick said sprigs of rosemary will be available to anyone wishing to place one on the cenotaph.
Mitchells Island Hall Committee secretary, Ian Smith will place the Honour Roll from the hall on the stage and bring a greeting from the people of Mitchells Island.
Mitchells Island School and Rural Fire Brigade will also be in attendance and laying wreaths.
Ray Nelson of the historic Nelson family of Bohnock will place on display a memorial plaque from the now demolished Bohnock Hall.
A special feature of the service will be the unveiling of the Neville Weiley Memorial Library by George Weiley and Neville's son Bevan.
Neville Weiley was a very prominent citizen during the 1940s and 50s, a councillor who was tragically killed, hit by a car outside the old shire council building in 1954.
Following the bugler sounding The Last Post all attendees will be invited to enjoy lunch.
The service commences at 10.15am on Sunday, November 11.
