Former Taree and Wingham rugby league players will face off on the greens at Taree West Bowling Club (aka Club West).
This will be their first meeting since 2017, with Wingham unable to make the trip last year for reasons never fully explained.
Taree manager/trainer/coach Gary Betts assures the Taree Boys will be up for the challenge.
'The break has given us the opportunity to introduce some new players to the game," Betts said.
There are some rookies in our squad who will be making their debuts.
“It'll be a big moment."
Betts concedes he has no idea what the Wingham lineup will be.
"It's been that long since we've seen them I've forgotten what they look like," he said.
Two bowl triples will be the order of play and three matches will be decided, Wingham currently holds the Bridgey's Sportspower Shield.
However, just where the shield is has officials slightly concerned.
"I can't recall if we took it to Wingham last time or not," Betts said.
Play will be underway from 9am and a result known well before the Caulfield Cup is run.
