The annual donations program enables council to assist community groups and organisations to deliver valuable community projects across the region.
Among the successful candidates this year are Gloucester Scouts Group, Coopernook Action Group Inc, Bucketts Way Neighbourhood Group and Volunteer Marine Rescue NSW Forster and Tuncurry, with funds going towards a range of projects and initiatives worth $47,579 in total.
“From plants for community gardens, emergency equipment or a healthy eating initiative, funds from the donations program will help positive community projects come to fruition,” said Lyndie Hepple, council’s coordinator, community strengthening.
Under the program, applicants have the chance to receive up to $2000 for their group or project. The program is offered on an annual basis and is part of council’s ongoing commitment to building the capacity of our unique, diverse and culturally rich communities .
