Old Bar's Boogie Woogie Beach House has just been appointed as the best music hotel on the planet.
Yes, that's right, not just in Australia, but in the world.
It has certainly come a long way from being a back-packers hostel.
Only one other hotel in Australia made the top 15 list by UPROXX, that being in Brisbane. Also in the top 15 were establishments from Los Angeles, Dublin, Seattle, Hollywood, Amsterdam, Berlin, Washington, New York, London, Budapest and Ibiza.
The Boogie Woogie Beach House is more than music-themed, it’s music everything.
Each shower is done with a different mosaic of a legend’s face, from Louis Armstrong to Blondie. The halls are lined with records and there’s a player in every room. The beds feature pillows stitched with the faces of your favourite rockers.
What really stands out at Boogie Woogie Beach House is the live music scene. It’s been carefully curated and the attention to detail shows.
Concerts on their massive deck, called the Flow Bar, draw crowds from throughout the area. And it is just metres from the beach.
Well done Steve and the crew. What an achievement!
Apple Training
The CTC at Old Bar has always been able to provide training on a range of technology subjects but has struggled to offer training on I-pads or I-phones. Now that has changed. One of our priceless volunteers, Sue Lathwell, is happy to provide to training to anyone on a one on one basis.
For a very moderate cost, this can be done at the CTC or in your home if necessary. To obtain training on Apple devices, or any other technology subject, please call in at the CTC at 5/45 Old Bar Road or phone 6553 6677 to make an appointment.
Cables for your devices
The CTC at Old Bar has a multitude of power cables and power supplies for many devices; new printer cartridges, audio cables and TV cables for the cost of a gold coin donation. Come in and have a look. They are all in good condition. The CTC is located between Luriyas Thai Restaurant and Old Bar Take Away on Old Bar Road.
