A man has been charged over an alleged domestic violence-related assault and fire in Taree on Saturday night, October 13.

About 10pm Saturday, officers from Manning/Great Lakes Police District were called to a caravan park on Manning River Drive, Taree, following reports of an assault.
It will be alleged a man punched a 35-year-old woman in the head several times before damaging her mobile phone.
A short time later, the woman returned to her property and saw a fire spreading outside.
The woman and three children, aged 13, 11 and eight, fled the cabin and were not injured.
Fire and Rescue NSW extinguished the fire, however, the structure and its contents were destroyed.
Following inquiries, a 37-year-old man was arrested and taken to Taree Police Station.
He was charged with common assault (DV), damage property by fire with intent to injure (DV), and destroy or damage property (DV).
The man was refused bail to appear before Port Macquarie Local Court on Sunday, October 14.
