From October 2018 to June 2019, most Local Court cases will be heard at Forster, and District Court cases will be heard at Port Macquarie.

“It’s bad enough that police have to transport every person taken into custody to Forster, and now everyone from Taree will have to travel to Forster for their case as well,” he said.
“As well as everything, the Forster Court House is smaller than Taree, practitioners are concerned at the practical consequences of this.”
The redevelopment of the Taree Police Station aims to provide an operationally sound base, with a focus on police welfare.
The station is set to include a regional police charge facility, a breath analysis and drug test facility, CCTV and audio visual links, new work spaces for all officers, secure parking for police vehicles, a small gym, meal facility and modern foyer.
