The building features a renal dialysis unit, chemotherapy unit and consultation spaces.
Patients will also have access to a car park.
Clinical staff have already settled into their new home.
The renal dialysis unit has been named in honour of local health advocate Nita Reed.
Nita is a local treasure. Alongside an army of dedicated community advocates, Nita established a renal dialysis service in Chatham Avenue in 1998.
She also formed the Mid North Coast Kidney Association.
At the official opening of the building, Nita thanked all those that have been associated with fundraising and awareness projects to support patients in the region.
“I have been very blessed to be associated with the kidney association.
“With this unit named after me, my thanks go to all the people that made it happen.
“As the saying goes, some are born great, some achieve greatness, some have greatness thrust upon them.
“I think today I have greatness thrust upon me and I thank you all,” Mrs Reed said.
The opening was also attended by Hunter New England Health chief executive Michael DiRienzo and Member for Myall Lakes Stephen Bromhead.
Mr DiRienzo said the building was a welcome addition to Manning Hospital.
“I’m pleased to say the work has focused on constructing a facility that will meet the future demands of this region and provide an inviting environment to patients and staff,” Mr DiRienzo said.
“We’re only able to deliver these services through the dedication of staff at Manning Hospital.”
Mr Bromhead said patients had improved access to healthcare.
“This is the best 21st century facilities you can have and the best services inside the building.
“It’s fantastic we have the nurses and medical specialists here,” Mr Bromhead said.
