More than 60 enthusiasts from local car clubs displayed their classic cars on the day local author Joel Wakely released his latest book, “The Passion for Muscle Cars” at Harrington Library on Friday, September 7.

Those attending included David Scott, managing director of publishers, Woodslane Publishing and Woodslane editor, Andrew Swaffer.

On Friday, September 14 at Taree Library, muscle car lovers are welcome to attend a free talk when Joel will speak about his book, kicking off at 1pm.

A definitive guide to the embracing of high performance vehicles by the big three Australian car manufacturers, 'The Passion for Muscle Cars' traces Australia's unique motor sport heritage from the 1950s through into the late 1970s as it recaptures the glory days of Holden, Ford and Chrysler models all supported by 500 stunning photos.

"The library is very pleased to fuel the passion of local petrol heads with events such as these" said Library Manager Chris Jones.

The even is free, but bookings are essential as places are limited. Visit www.midcoastlibraries.com.au/events
