Organised by Taree Arts Council as a prelude to its upcoming musical production Les Misérables, guests can expect a night of great company, fun, frolic and music.
French canapés will be a highlight and include such delicacies as Fainting Pope, Salmon Blinis, Crostini de Boeuf, Lamb Roulettes and Gougeres. Guests will also enjoy a complimentary glass of champagne on arrival.
Vocalist Leonie Ganivet will be performing as will a number of the cast members of Les Misérables, including David Stephens, Tim Gibbs, Stacey Evans and Mary Camphuis.
Although in earlier days described as ‘scandalous’, the Can Can will be performed by dancers Joanna Drake, Tanaya Wrigley, Annabelle Hansen and Elizabeth Avery in a high energy routine that is sure to delight.
Real estate agent Rob Chapman will conduct an auction with services on offer from Blake Ballard from Ballard’s Backyards, Suzie Hignett from Travel Partners, Caitlyn Cameron from Raw Sugar, Karla Agnew from The Room Above Beauty Salon, Leaha Stephens from Leaha’s Hair Studio, Lauren Baker from Taree Wingham Clay Target Club and Deidre Stack hostess of Nundoobah Retreat.
French attire is at your discretion. There will be prizes for best dressed and most comical (other than the performers), raffle and lucky door prizes.
Les Misérables will be staged at the Manning Entertainment Centre from November 2 to 18, and the cast has been busy rehearsing up to three times a week since April in order to present you with a most spectacular production.
So, gather your friends together for ‘something different’ and enjoy what will be a memorable night of 'la musique, enchantant and comedie', and mingle with Les Misérables director Gayle Cameron and cast members.
Tickets are $35 and are available from Bass and Blues, in Albert Street, Taree. Please arrive at 6.45pm for a 7pm start. No table bookings – table sizes vary up to eight.
