School principal Daryl Irvine issued the ‘pride in your patch’ challenge where each faculty, room and block was tasked with tidying up and beautifying each area.
Each eye-catching design reflects different topics such as periodic table elements at the science faculty and book titles on the staircase heading to the library.
Atrium plants and a variety of planter boxes have been added while photos from Griffin Fest will be showcased.
Chatham High School community liaison officer Jodie Bird said the work took several weeks to complete.
“It was to make each area colourful and inviting,” Jodie said.
After a rigorous and methodic judging process, the science faculty took out top honours.
Highly commended awards went to the front office, I Block, upstairs D Block and Lee Deer for the print room.
The designs are now a permanent fixture of the school.
“They’re definitely here to stay,” Jodie said.
