The bream are being caught on mullet strips and yabbies while the flathead are falling to soft plastics and yabbies.
Salmon and tailor are being caught on Harrington and Crowdy beaches. They are taking pilchards and lures. The best salmon are 2.5kgs plus and the tailor are just over 1kg.
No mulloway have been recorded in the past week and a half. They should come on the bite around the full moon.
Outside anglers are catching snapper to 2.5kgs from the north and south grounds, as well as some nice pearl perch. Flathead are being taken on the drift and bar cod and haruka and other deep sea species are being caught out wide. – Ian Pereira
