Presented by the Manning Valley Historical Society and proudly supported by the Wingham RSL Sub-branch, the ball will commemorate the centenary of the end of World War I.
It will also pay tribute to all the defense and peace-keeping service men and women up to the present day.
There will be music, dancing and entertainment reflecting 100 years of change, and prizes for best costumes highlighting a 100 years of various fashions.
“Diggers Balls were held every year from the opening of the town hall in 1924 until the late 1950s. The 2018 Commemoration Ball will be the first one since that time,” MVHS Diggers Ball Committee chair, Mave Richardson said.
“Join us in this never-to-be-repeated extra special community event. You will not be disappointed.”
Numbers are limited. Tickets are on sale at $40 per person at the Wingham Museum, Ashlea Road Boutique in Wingham, and Bass ‘N’ Blues in Taree.
As in the ‘old days’ this will be a BYO drinks event.
