The national tour, which marks 150 years since the last convict ship arrived in Australia, will land in Port Macquarie on Thursday, July 19.
The Mobile Mint Team will set up a pop-up shop outside the Glasshouse.
Members of the public will be able to strike an “Australia” counterstamp onto their own Rascals and Ratbags $1 coin, swap coins or cash for freshly minted standard and special circulating coins, plus browse new products from the Mint.
The Rascals and Ratbags Roadshow is the Mint’s third national tour.
It celebrates the contributions of convicts to Australia’s history, heritage and folklore.
This leg of the tour will visit Newcastle, Port Macquarie, Gold Coast, Brisbane, Toowoomba and Tamworth.
The roadshow will be outside the Glasshouse from 9am to 4pm on July 19.
The Rascals and Ratbags 2018 $1 “Australia” Counterstamp uncirculated coin is exclusive to the roadshow.
The coin’s reverse features a depiction of a tree with a canopy representing Australia.
The convict symbols of the broad arrow and chains are at its roots.
The packaging features an illustration and story of convict John Boyle O’Reilly who became a well-loved journalist, editor and writer.
