At about 8.25 am, officers were patrolling the Pacific Highway at Coopernook when a white Toyota Hiace was detected travelling at 151 kilometres per hour in a 100 kilometres per hour zone.
The driver was stopped and returned a positive result to a roadside breath test.
He was arrested and taken to Taree Police Station where a breath analysis returned a high range reading.
The man’s driver licence was confiscated and he was issued with a licence suspension notice.
He was also fined $2435 for speeding more than 45 kilometres per hour over the speed limit and was issued a court attendance notice.
