The school was recently involved in a research project led by the Centre for Education Statistics and Evaluation (CESE) within the Department of Education.
The research involved a case study about how schools from across the State have created a culture of excellence.
Taree West was named in the top five schools across NSW for creating a culture of excellence as a result of its work to embed a number of high quality teaching and learning practices into the running of the school.
These strategies included ongoing and targeted professional development, a focus on student well-being and community engagement, high expectations for all and collaborative approaches to school planning.
The case study outlined how the school has implemented and embedded quality practices to improve teaching and learning outcomes.
The case studies were designed to promote the valuable work that is being done by the teachers and leaders in schools around the state, to improve student engagement and achievement.
They also serve as an example for other schools across the State.
