Bream, luderick and flathead have been caught in the lower reaches of the river, with the bream providing the best catches.
No reports of whiting or mulloway have been received. On the beaches bream, tailor and salmon have been caught.
The bream are taking mullet strips, beach worms and pippies, while the tailor are taking garfish, pilchards and metal lures.
Some of the salmon caught have been up to 2kgs and put up a good fight on light line.
Outside snapper, trag and pearl perch have been boated from the northern grounds.
Surface fish have been absent but there are plenty of slimy mackerel for live bait.
Australian championships at Harrington
The Australian Anglers Association (AAA) Championships will be held at Harrington for the first time in the last week of June and the first week of July.
This will attract between 60 and 70 competitors from Australia and New Zealand.
The weigh-in for the offshore section will be held at Crowdy Head and the weigh-in for estuary for the beach and rock will be held next to Club Harrington.
The championship is held every three years.
