The shock public declaration of Peter Katsamangos escalated tensions in crisis talks relating to the naming of Mount Stickity Stack in the Manning River near Taree.
Earlier this week, Bree Katsamangos learned the public vote in the Manning River Times’ poll had supported her name suggestion of Mount Stickity Stack with 293 of 827 votes, convincingly defeating pre-poll favourite, Beaver Island with 188 votes. The poll became a catalyst for conflict in the Katsamangos’ home after Bree learned her husband, Peter, had voted for another name.
“I’m sorry to say my own husband voted for Beaver Island, our divorce is now pending,” Bree said.

The mother of two decided it would be prudent to seek community guidance as “the community wisely chose Mount Stickity Stack, so I’d love their help with this one! To divorce, or not to divorce? That is the question.”
A quick poll is a good poll and the community again rallied to vote – as did Peter, claiming to be one of the 69 who voted ‘yes’ to the question, ‘Should Bree divorce Peter?’
Today crisis talks ended and in an exclusive interview with the Manning River Times at their home in Tinonee, Bree revealed, “I have decided to keep him.”
“Despite my husband’s act of poor humour to actually vote for divorce in the poll - a double betrayal of sorts - I have decided to keep him.” Bree said.
“There are a number of reasons for this.
“First, the community voted against divorce, perhaps considering it a slight overreaction to his betrayal. Given their wisdom in electing Mount Stickity Stack as the winner, I need to take this advice seriously.
“Second, his friends have expressed concern that without me, he will likely end up a homeless vagrant, loitering in dark places and bothering people for small amounts of change. I can see this is a distinct possibility, another reason to act with restraint.”
But the real motivation for forgiveness is winter is upon us and my feet get cold at night. If I divorce him, who will keep them warm?

Peter was present at the property during the interview, but requested a separate interview from his temporary accommodation adjacent to the back door, The Doghouse.
“I’d like to accept all past, present and future liability for all disagreements with my wife,” Peter said.
“I’d like to let everyone know that she’s always right and I’m always wrong. I’ve seen the error of my ways and would like to apologise to my wife unreservedly.
Mount Stickity Stack is the most imaginative, original and funniest name ever bestowed upon a pile of logs and bird droppings.

“I hope she can find it in her heart to forgive me. There’s not enough room for me and the dogs in The Doghouse.”
With the Mount Stickity Stack and divorce poll issues now resolved, Peter bravely chose to have the last word … perhaps emboldened by NSW’s 22-12 win over Queensland in State of Origin.
“The irony of being lectured about loyalty by someone who was born and raised in NSW but supports Queensland is killing me,” he said.
Late breaking news:
Peter Katsamangos remains in The Doghouse.
