The 2018 Bonnie Wingham Scottish Festival will begin on May 29 with a showcase of Celtic music and some of the best local musical talent.
The Scottish Concert is the first of many events planned for the week long festival now in its 14th year.
Bonnie Wingham attracts world-wide attention with Scots arriving in the small town in their droves (and in their kilts).
Festival organisers have planned a range of ticketed (and non-ticketed) events to keep everyone amused throughout the festival including a Genealogy Fair, Poets Breakfast, Scottish Ball and even a district bus tour.
By far the most popular with locals is the free Family Fun Day to be held on Saturday, June 2 in Wingham’s Central Park.
Thousands of people are expected to converge on Wingham to see the sea of tartan and bagpipes with Scottish themed activities planned throughout the day.

The morning starts at 9.30am with a popular street parade which includes mass pipe bands and marching clans. The parade begins on Bent Street.
The parade will make its way to Central Park for the opening ceremony and then families can kick back and enjoy the show.
Highland games, country dancing, mass pipe bands, Scottish themed markets and even a best dressed (Scottish attire only) dog competition.
Each year organiser’s choose a Clan of Honour and this year it is the MacLennon clan in the spotlight.
Bruce McLennan will be officiating as the clan chieftain.
McLennan descendants have been invited from all around the country and there will be many clan-related activities for them to participate in.
On Thursday, May 31 David Freeman, an avid genealogist, along with Bruce McLennan, will present The McLennans of the Mid North Coast of NSW as well as some research tips at a Genealogy Fair at Wingham Services Club.
Bruce just happens to be the world wide historian of Clan MacLennan.
That night the clan will get the first of many opportunities to celebrate with a McLennan re-union evening at Wingham Golf Club Function Rooms.
For those of Scottish ancestry Bonnie Wingham offers an opportunity to touch base with your roots, with clan stalls in Central Park during the Family Fun Day in Central Park on Saturday, June 2.
But even if you haven’t an ounce of Celtic blood, Bonnie Wingham’s Family Fun Day is a great day out for all the family.
So if you have a kilt, or even a tartan scarf, don’t forget to wear it and head on over to Wingham for some good old fashioned Scottish fun.
Free entry to Central Park and free parking in CBD.
