Flathead are still being caught in the backwater on lures and whiting are taking worms, yabbies and pippes in the mouth of the river from the sand spit.
The occasional tailor has been taken on lures from Crowdy beach. Due to the formation of the beach there are no spots where they can congregate.
Outside anglers have continued to produce catches although no Spanish mackerel have been caught this week. Spotted mackerel, long tailed tuna, mac tuna and bonito have all been taken on lures and live bait.
School mulloway to 7kgs have been boated from the close in reefs while good sized snapper have been landed from the northern grounds.
When the sea abates the offshore fishing will be rewarding.
