Immediately after Easter on Tuesday April 3, all MidCoast Water Service enquiries can be made at the council offices at 4 Breese Parade Forster and 2 Pulteney Street Taree.
"Plans for the move have progressed well and are on track, with teams working together to ensure we are ready by Tuesday April 3 to provide a single customer service point in Forster and Taree for all council and water services enquiries,” council's acting general manager, Steve Embry said.
Over recent weeks, teams have worked together to prepare for the move and ensure the same service is available for MidCoast Water Services' customers at the new locations.
This move is one of the key customer-orientated integration projects underway at MidCoast Council with the goal of providing more effective and efficient services to the community.
“A single point of service for council and MidCoast Water Services is a vital step in delivering an integrated service to our customers” Mr Embry said.
The change has been communicated via local media, advertising, council's website and Facebook pages, posters and flyers, direct mail to specific customers, advice on water accounts, and on both council and MidCoast Water Services' phone systems.
The teams will be working together to provide business as usual from Tuesday April 3. Other than a new location for all current water and sewer services, there will be little change to the service customers currently experience.
The phone number for MidCoast Water remains the same – 1300 133 455 – and will continue to operate 24/7 for emergencies and service difficulties. MidCoast Council's customer service call centre number also remains the same – 6591 7222.
MidCoast Water Services accounts can still be paid at Australia Post, online or via Bpay.
The customer service team will be focussed on putting customer needs first while they work on integrating council and water business across the organisation in the months following the move.
The Water Services offices in Breese Parade Forster and Muldoon Street Taree will be closed to the public from Tuesday April 3, with the office space being used by non-frontline council staff.
