A trio of Greens MPs will visit Taree on Sunday, March 11 as part of a climate change awareness campaign.
Jeremy Buckingham, Dawn Walker and Tamara Smith will at Johnny Martin Oval between 9am and 1pm with a 16 foot (almost five metres) ‘Earth Ball’.
The ball shows satellite imagery of Earth and will be used by Mr Buckingham to speak about the need to phase out fossil fuels.
"The aim of the Earth ball is to remind people that we all live on just one planet and we must protect our climate,” Mr Buckingham said.
"Burning coal is the number one cause of climate change, which is why the Greens want a rapid phase-out of coal and a transition to clean, renewable energy.”
Later on in the day, a series of documentaries will be screened at the Manning United Church that discuss the campaign to stop the Adani coal mine.
The films will be shown from 2pm.
A meeting will be held afterwards to discuss climate change, fossil fuels, TAFE and education.
