Roosters and Sea Eagles legend Noel ‘Crusher’ Cleal will be the guest of honour, alongside Terry Randall, Ian Martin, Denis Tutty, Gary Bridge and Ziggy Niszczot.
Sports journalist Dean ‘Bulldog’ Ritchie is also set to attend.
A jumping castle and pass-the-football competition will be some of the other activities for punters and children.
Jockey club president Garry McQuillan said the event aims to raise funds for the charity.
“We support as many charities as we can and we believe Men of League is a great thing for players and their families that fall on hard times,” Garry said.
“It’s going to be a great day.”
About $2,500 was raised at last year’s event.
Garry has higher expectations this time around.
“We’ll be looking to raise about three to four thousand dollars this year,” Garry said.
The club is promoting a raffle where four tickets to State of Origin II at ANZ Stadium, Sydney and four tickets to the private captain’s run the day before the game are up for grabs.
Tickets are $5 and will be drawn after the second last race.
A silent auction will be held at The Tuncurry Beach Bowling Club after the races, where a signed Melbourne Storm premiership jersey will be won.
The six-race card will be headlined by the Forster Bowling Entertainment Centre and Motel Club Benchmark 60 Handicap (over 2100 metres) and Mercedes Benz Benchmark 60 Handicap (over 1300 metres).
This will be the club’s first race day for 2018.
Garry said recent rain has the track in prime condition.
“The track is good to go,” Garry said.
Acceptances and riders will be declared tomorrow (March 8).
Gates open at noon.
