Whiting are taking beach worms and yabbies from the spit in the mouth of the river and pippies and beach worms just up from Crowdy Head Surf Club.
Some of the fish caught are up around 40cm and are well conditioned. The bream are biting best on mullet strips yabbies and mullet gut. The wall at Harrington and the spur wall at Manning Point are two of the best spots. Fishing an hour each side of the slack water gives the best results,
Night fishing is the best way to get a bag limit of fish.
Mulloway have been scarce with only a few small fish being caught on soft plastics. Results should improve with the full moon next week. The beaches are severely eroded due to big seas and there are no formations on Crowdy. Harrington beach above the sea wall is well formed up and the tailor should be there when the seas abate.
