After limiting Nulla to 6/120 from 40 overs Taree West could only manage 87 in reply. Ryan Williams was the star for Taree West with the ball, finishing with 2/7 while he top scored with 17.
Batsmen also struggled at Wayne Richards Park at Port Macquarie where Wingham maintained second place with a win over Kempsey side Rovers.
In all 214 runs were scored for the loss of 18 wickets in 70.2 overs. Both teams bowled 35.1 overs. Rovers managed 106 with Jarrod Baldwin making an unbeaten 35. Wingham always seem to share the wickets around and David Rees was the best with 3/25. In a close finish Wingham just got home with 8/108. Ben Cole made 34 while Matt Scott took 2/17.
Competition front runners Macquarie accounted for Port Pirates. Macquarie scored 146 with only two batsmen making double figures – Todd Giddy 71 and Tom Salter 25. For Pirates Mick Forster took 5/22. Pirates finished with 112. Peter Colver scored 32 and Mick Forster completed an excellent game with 23. Four bowlers took two each, the best the in-form Tom Salter with 2/10.
Andrews Park saw home team Wauchope inflict defeat on the Port Macquarie Leagues Magpies. Wauchope scored 137 with Aaron Hagenbach making 33. For Magpies Blake Laurance took 3/14. Magpies batted and in what seems common this season, the top order collapsed to only total 112. Ben Marron tried hard with 32 but Wauchope’s Mat Miller’s 5/21 was the game breaker.
