Police are appealing for witnesses after a fire destroyed a luxury vessel valued at $1 million on the Wallis Lake Inlet at Tuncurry.

Just after 11pm Tuesday, February 6, 2018, emergency services were called to Tuncurry in response to reports of a fire on a moored boat.
Four people who were asleep on board managed to escape unharmed and fire fighters were able to bring the fire under control.
The fire caused extensive damage to the vessel and following consultation with specialists from NSW HAZMAT and Roads and Maritime Services, the vessel was towed out to sea, where it eventually sank.
Police are investigating the circumstances of the fire, which is believed to have been deliberately lit, and would like to speak to anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the fire and is yet to provide a statement.
