Member for Lyne Dr David Gillespie congratulated the Upper Lansdowne Memorial Hall Committee on its successful funding application for assistance to improve facilities at the Hall.
“The committee informs me that the new concert sound system will be installed to not only attract more local talent, but also a number of visiting Australian and international artists,” Dr Gillespie said.
“The community hall serves as the social hub in the Upper Lansdowne area with regular concerts, theatre dinners, matinees and craft groups all enjoying the facilities and I am delighted that funding of $3000 has been made available towards the $6210 cost of the new facilities.”
The Stronger Communities Program supports the federal government’s commitment to deliver social benefits across Australia by funding small capital projects in each of the 150 federal electorates.
The program’s intended outcomes are to improve local community participation and contribute to vibrant and viable communities. Round three of the program will provide $22.5 million in 2017-18, $150,000 to each electorate.
