Top Australian mountain bike rider Luke Brame of Glenbrook hit the trails at Kiwarrak State Forest on December 31 in the Manning-Great Lakes Tip Riders (MGLTR) final cross country mountain bike race for 2017.

The Australian junior and under 23 team representative was the outright winner of the event which attracted 20 competitors.

Mitchells Island rider Dean Brame secured overall second place and local junior Marcus Worth claimed overall third.
MGLTR vice president Bruce Pain said the event started and finished on Lantana Crossing Road and was a lap race with A grade doing five laps, B grade four laps, C grade three laps and D grade two laps of a five kilometre fast flowing race loop.
Pain said the 60km of trails are some of the best in Australia and offered something for all levels of riders.
A Grade: 1st – Luke Brame; 2nd – Dean Brame; 3rd – Marcus Worth.
B Grade: 1st – Matt Tonkin; 2nd – Charlie Kennett; 3rd – Mark Brame.
C Grade: 1st – Tommy Worth; 2nd – Steve Richardson; 3rd – Greg Fowler.
