Council is required to receive a report on complaints and that report is to be provided to the Office of Local Government.
The December meeting of council noted the report, prepared by council’s governance manager Rob Giffiths.
Mr Griffiths said within three months of the end of September each year, a report must be prepared on a range of complaint statistics.
Categories of misconduct include:
- General conduct
- Conflict of interest
- Personal benefit
- Relationship between council officials
- Access to information and resources
