With a large crowd on hand, five officers were on the ground and tasked with combating any anti-social behaviour that could have arisen.
Chief Inspector George said the event gave police a great opportunity to interact and talk with the public.
“Everyone was well behaved and they all enjoyed the night,” Chief Inspector George said.
“They all left in an orderly manner.”
Hundreds of families and visitors lined the foreshore to view the spectacular 15 minute display.
Celebrations kicked off at 5pm in Queen Elizabeth Park with music from the Dingo Creek String Band and Kyle Shilling as well as carnival and food stalls, novelties and rides for the children.
