Between them, the life membership recipients – Marjorie Rees, Phyllis Byrnes and Margaret Thomson – have been members of the group for a collective 32 years.
Marjorie has been a member since 2005 and is an internationally renowned weaver. She displays her dedication to the group by coming all the way from Gloucester every week to attend the regular meetings at the wool shed at Wingham Showground. Wingham residents Margaret and Phyllis, members for nine and 11 years respectively, are both spinners and enjoy felting. Although they love their craft, all three women cite the company of the other group members as being the most valued aspect of the group.
The new year promises more growth for the ladies (and one man) as they are in the process of becoming dementia friendly.
