The Bureau of Meteorology issued a severe thunderstorms warning at 5pm Friday afternoon.
The bureau warned the storms are likely to produce large hailstones and damaging winds in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Coffs Harbour, Port Macquarie, Taree, Newcastle, Gosford, Cessnock, Maitland, Armidale and Tenterfield.
The forecasts for Saturday in the Manning is for a partly cloudy day with a 50 per cent chance of showers and a thunderstorm in the early morning.
Winds will come from the south 15 to 20 km/h becoming light in the evening
Sunday should be mostly sunny with light winds.
Temperatures will be mild, with Saturday predicted to reach 24 degrees Celsius and Sunday to reach 26.
