A number of carols events are being held across the Manning and Great Lakes in coming weeks.
Tinonee Christmas Carols will be held at Bob Collier Oval on Saturday, December 9, hosted by Tinonee Soccer Club. Gates open at 5pm for a 6pm start. Entertainment by the Club Taree Community Concert Band, Manning Valley Choral Society, Sweet ’n’ Swampy, Tinonee Public School Choir and Earth Angels Childcare Centre.
Taree’s Carols in the Park is on Sunday, December 10, at Fotheringham Park. Entertainment, organised by Leanne Ralston and which includes a live band accompanying the many acts, will start at 6.30pm with food available from 5.30pm. Hosted by Jeremy Miller and Jeremy Thornton, the evening will conclude with a 9pm fireworks display by Ka-Boom Fireworks.
The Carols by Candlelight at John Wright Park in Tuncurry, organised by the Rotary Club of Tuncurry, will be held on Monday, December 11, starting 6.30pm. Food, drinks, glow sticks and song sheets available.
Carols in the Churchyard will be held on Friday December 15 at the Taree Presbyterian Church in Albert Street, Taree. Activities start at 6pm with a sausage sizzle, followed by carols. Music by Manning Valley Concert Band and choral items by the Manning Valley Christian Choir.
Wingham Carols in the Paddock is on Saturday December 16, between 7pm and 9pm (a free sausage sizzle will run from 6.30pm), at the Wingham Baptist Church. Entertainment includes Shaelee Mobbs, Hudson Rose and Katelyn Davidson.
Carols in the Park at Black Head on Sunday December 17, starting 6.30pm. The Manning Valley Concert Band will be warming up before then with Hallidays Point Lions operating their barbecue from 5.30pm. Performers include Jodie Cooper, Georgia Hudson-Rose, Ray Smith, Cassidy Donovan, Mary Camphuis, Raelene Brown, Paul Eade, the local Probus choir and compere Anthony Zanos.
The Marlee Bush Carols, is on Sunday, December 17 at St Mark’s Church on Bulga Road, Marlee. Food and activities from 6pm with carols and entertainment from 7pm.
Old Bar Christmas Carols on ‘The Lounge’ will be held at Taree Old Bar Surf Life Saving Club from 6.30pm on Friday, December 22, organised by OneLIFE Church. Sausage sandwiches, soft drinks and snacks will be for sale inside the surf club.
