The West fell for a disappointing 111 in reply to Wauchope’s 9/162.
Wauchope won the toss and batted first. Jonathon Paff struck early for Taree West and from there no batsman really got going, with 31 being the top score to Bailey Smith. Ryan Williams was again Taree West’s most successful bowler, finishing with 3/24.
However, Taree West’s run chase started badly and quickly deteriorated. Their top batsman, Josh Meldrum fell for 14 and the wickets continued to tumble. The game was as good as over when Taree West slumped to be 8/75. However, Matt Garland counter attacked to make 31 including four boundaries and put on 33 with Paff, who made 10, to give the innings some respectability.
Tony Brown continued his good form to take 4/14 for Wauchope while Matt Day took 2/5 from three overs.
A brilliant 130 from Danny Powick highlighted Rovers comfortable win over Port Pirates at Kempsey.
This made it back-to-back victories for the Kempsey combination.
Rovers batted around him and scored 8/245.. Pirates found the going difficult with Amos Humphries top scoring with 22. For Rovers, Matthew Scott took 2/22 from his eight overs.
The United/Wingham encounter will now be played on Sunday January 21 after the game was postponed because of representative commitments in Coffs Harbour.
