They first started riding the scooters at the Old Bar skatepark. Then Harry and Merrick started to spend more time their honing their skills.
From there the pair heard about competitions they could enter. This led to more and more time practising.
Now they’re hoping to force their way into the NSW team and they’re prepared to put in the work to make this possible. Merrick and Harry recently competed at the Australian Scooter Association event at the Korrupt Skatepark in Campbelltown. Remarkably, from 35 starters, Harry and Merrick finished equal seventh. To compete at State level the boys will have to rank in the top 10 consistentlyin competition.
They are now preparing an event at Tuggerah in December.
“We’re doing heaps of practice,’’ they said before heading out for yet another training session.
