After several months of trial and error with adjustments to his rifle and equipment, Bartlett has hit the ground running and is shooting unbelievable scores. He has just returned from a very successful two day open competition in Coonabarabran, where he won six of the seven ranges and took home the title for daily aggregate and the grand aggregate wins in F Class B-grade.
At Wingham in overcast conditions with a slight breeze Bartlett shot a blistering first stage of 60 with four centres followed by a second stage of 60 with five centres. This is a club record at the 800 metre distance in the F Class category. Bartlett, who has been shooting competitively for the past 20 years, said this is his first double possible in any discipline.
Target rifle A-grade shooter Mal McKenzie posted two identical stages of 50 with eight centres to also shoot a double possible of 100 with 16 centres at the long distance.
Andrew Geary, who was also successful at the Coonabarabran shoot, won target rifle B-grade, only dropping one shot to post a final score of 99 with nine centres.
Duncan Robinson scored 112 with two centres in F Standard B-grade, while Christina Adams shot a very respectable 114 with five centres in F open category.
